Hey, I am jumping in to give you a quick video tip. If you haven’t heard, video is in. Everyone from your business client to your grandmother’s dog is in on the action. It turns out for a good reason. You, too, can use videos to promote your interior design services. 

In a recent study, videos are shown to generate 300% more traffic. Can you imagine getting 300% more traffic to your interior design website?

Even more crazy is that people actually want to watch videos. For example, 90% of people would rather learn about a company through video than advertising, according to research. So, what are you waiting for? 

Let me guess, you are afraid of the camera. If you are like me, I find every reason not to be on camera. 

 Let’s see: I need my hair done; the roots are showing. I feel fat. I am not photogenic. I don’t have my toes painted. 

Yep, I used that one even though the camera doesn’t show my toes. I will use any excuse not to be in front of the camera. But, here is the truth, you need to be for these 3 simple reasons. 

  • It will boost your SEO. What is SEO? You might be wondering why it needs a boost. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Let me tell you SEO is critical to driving website traffic. The more SEO-friendly your website, the higher you will fall in search results. When you add videos to your website and add the transcript filled with keywords, search engines recognize and will place your site higher on the search results page. Unfortunately, there aren’t many of us who search beyond page 1 or 2. You want to be on page one. 

 

  • Now for the second reason, you need video. Videos are a great way to illustrate your design services or show off cool products. Think about it for a second. What better way to show off your design aesthetics than to walk someone through your recent project? Grab your phone, hit record, and walk through a project explaining key aspects of the project and why they are important to the function and the design. It is a great way to share your latest design. It doesn’t have to be perfect. That is the best part. 

 

  • The final reason you need to consider creating videos is that your prospects want to see you and connect with you. It is the easiest way for them to get a feel for what it would be like to work with you by seeing your personality on a video. Did you know by adding a video to your website landing pages, your audience is 80% more likely to sign up. Now that is a pretty crazy stat.
